Special Systems Service

      

     Our special systems team is one of the most diverse in our company.  They focus their talents on a number of different systems.  Some of these systems are Halon 1301, FM-200, Halotron, Pre-Action, Dry Pipe, Spark Detection, and CCTV Systems.
Clean Agent Systems
     Halon 1301, FM-200, and Halotron systems are known as clean agent systems.  Clean Agent - meaning that there is no clean up after the system discharges.  Clean agent systems are designed primarily for protecting items that water would otherwise damage.  Clean agent systems remove the oxygen from a room by flooding it with another gas thus extinguishing the fire.
Pre-Action Systems
      A pre-action system differs from a deluge system only in that it has normally closed automatic sprinklers. When the fire detecting device is actuated, the water control valve opens and admits water into the piping system. The system then acts the same as a wet pipe system. Individual sprinklers are opened by the heat of the fire. The advantage of the pre-action system is that the probability of inadvertent water discharge is minimized because operation of both the detection system and automatic sprinklers is necessary for discharge of extinguishing water.
